资源简介:
The study employed a qualitative method and interviewed thirty-eight (38) professionals from five professional categories (Arichitects, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Civil Engineers, Services Engineers) from Ghana.
The study has made a significant and original contribution to knowledge by addressing the CB process from a systems approach. Practically, the findings of this study serve as a useful reference for practitioners and policymakers to assess their level of commitment to CB efforts for ESB delivery. In the development of the framework for this study, new knowledge was uncovered by the seminal addition of change management in addressing the barriers and exploring the drivers of CB for BE professionals particularly within the organisation. Generally, it is recommended that more education and awareness be given to those principles recording low levels of awareness among the BE professionals e.g. the principle of land use and building positioning and the IEQ.The study is limited by its generalisability an often cited weakness or limitation for qualitative studies. As only thirty-eight (38) interviewees were used for the study, the generalisability of the findings is called into question. However, this method allowed for an in-depth appreciation of the issues raised, which would not have been possible with a quantitative study.
