A report on the available economic data for the invertebrate fisheries (except shrimp)

"The need for adequate economic data to understand and analyze U.S. domestic fisheries has been emphasized in all aspects of fishery research and management literature. It is the responsibility of the Southeast Fisheries Center to provide economic data and analysis in support of the management of marine fishery resources in the southeastern United States within the confines of existing manpower and budgetary constraints. This report presents an inventory of the existing economic data useful in the analysis of the invertebrate resources except shrimp within the Southeastern Region. The actual list inventorying existing data is outlined in Appendix A. This inventory describes the available data and provides representative examples. The second section of this report discusses this data inventory and describes near term plans to supplement the existing data bases. A fairly complete list of bibliographical references applicable to economic analysis of the invertebrate fisheries is presented in Appendix B"--Introduction, paragraph 1.
