资源简介:

This project includes SFINCS (Super-Fast INundation of CoastS) model outputs of hurricane flood depths. We simulated flood depths for Hurricanes Floyd (1999), Matthew (2016), and Florence (2018) across the eastern coastal plain of North and South Carolina on the U.S. Atlantic coast, using rainfall from ensembles of high-resolution numerical weather model simulations and coastal water levels from an ocean circulation model. For each storm, we simulated flood depths under present-day observed and future simulated (SSP5-8.5 2100) rainfall, combined with present-day and future land use/land cover (LULC), to isolate the separate and combined effects of climate change and land use change on flood hazard. This produces four flood depth outputs per storm: present rainfall/present LULC, present rainfall/future LULC, future rainfall/present LULC, and future rainfall/future LULC for 12 files total across the three storms. These simulations support an analysis of how future rainfall and LULC change affect flood depth and extent at multiple spatial scales, from the regional domain down to individual urbanizing watersheds.
