Genetic and biological characterization of zika virus isolates

A decrease in ZIKV transmission has been observed in the last three years, human cases are sporadically detected, which highlights the possibility of a new epidemic event. A better understanding of the contribution of viral genetic variants to the infectious process may be of paramount importance for the design of prophylactic or therapeutic strategies to control ZIKV infections.The aim of the present project is to perform a comparative genetic and biological characterization of ZIKV isolates from Brazil.
