This series consists of the Minute Books of VA 2266 Closer Settlement Board (previously known as Lands Purchase and Management Board ) and its successor, VA 2268 Closer Settlement Commission. Members of the Board (and Commission) met at regular intervals with meetings spread over two or three days.Matters dealt with at these meetings were to do with the approval of applications for closer and soldier settler allotments, instructions to officers regarding visits and assessments, passing accounts for payment, decisions regarding the purchase of land to be used for settlements and other matters as set out in the relevant Acts or referred to the body for advice or decision.
