Processed datasets and reproducibility workflow for global ecosystem service value losses under sea-level rise

This record contains the processed datasets and reproducibility workflow supporting the manuscript “Sea-level rise drives unequal erosion of global ecosystem service value.” The study assesses sea-level-rise-induced ecosystem service value (ESV) losses under five Shared Socioeconomic Pathways from 2030 to 2100 and examines their distribution across ecosystems and countries.Dataset S1 provides the processed ecosystem-service valuation database used to construct the 2024 country–ecosystem unit-value layer. It contains country–ecosystem unit ESVs, provisioning, regulating, habitat, and cultural service components, valuation source levels, and the numbers of eligible valuation observations and distinct primary studies.Dataset S2 provides country-by-ecosystem ESV projections, country-level and global absolute and relative ESV losses, fixed-unit-value comparison results, and the fitted equations and associated statistics underlying the supplementary trend analyses. It also contains 1,710 country-level fitted loss series.The reproducibility workflow contains the processed inputs, analytical scripts, intermediate and final outputs, submission datasets, and plotting scripts required to reproduce the valuation, income-adjustment, ESV-loss, regression, responsibility–loss mismatch, and figure analyses.All ecosystem-service monetary values are expressed in international dollars at 2020 price levels (Int$2020). Unit ESV is reported in Int$2020 ha−1 yr−1, whereas total ESV and annual ESV loss are reported in Int$2020 yr−1.Raw third-party datasets are not redistributed because they remain subject to their original access and licensing conditions. Their sources, versions, access information, and required workflow locations are documented in the accompanying workflow.This updated release supersedes the previous record and synchronizes the monetary-unit documentation, Dataset S1, Dataset S2, and the reproducibility workflow with the revised manuscript and Supplementary Information.
