PER-START Peri-urban Strategic Areas in Transformation

The PER-START project focuses on peri-urban landscapes with eco-cultural heritage value which, due to their configuration – natural, agricultural or the development of other human activities – could act as catalysts in urban regeneration processes. Peri-urban landscapes are often considered wasteland, underused spaces or empty lots, so reconsidering their importance, understanding them as active elements for the design of innovative urban regeneration models, is one of the priority challenges facing the PER-START Project. The advances made by the project have the potential to help change the way society experiences, understands and appropriates peri-urban landscapes.
