Study of ciliate biodiversity from river Yamuna and other parts of India

In the present study, water and soil samples were collected from select sites along the stretch of river Yamuna passing thorugh Dehradun, Delhi and Agra , India. Soil samples were also collected from regions near Ellora caves, Maharashatra, India. Ciliate Biodiversity of these regions were analysed using classical and molecular methods. Morphological, Morphometric, morphogenetic studies were done to identify ciliates. In molecular methods, cataloguing of ciliates was done using 18S r RNA (EUK A and EUK B primers)and V4 regions ( Forward primer 5'-CCAGCAGCCGCGGTAATTCC-3' and Reverse primer 5'-ACTTTCGTTCTTGATTAA-3) of 18S rRNA.
