We identified a small GTPase protein RAC1 as an intrinsic cofactor in the estrogen receptor alpha (ER) complex that is required for the function of ER. Overall design: MCF-7 cells were estrogen-deprived for 3 days before the cells were treated for 1 h during which the newly synthesized RNAs were labeled with BrU. The newly synthesized RNAs were purified and were subjected to RNA-seq.
