Microbial community structure of soils in Southwest Puerto Rico mangrove wetlands

Mangroves are an ecologically productive and taxonomically diverse group of tropical trees, adapted to grow in the intertidal zone. In Puerto Rico, mangroves have not been studied since 1970s and through this project we will characterize the microbiota of red and black mangrove soils located in Southwest Puerto Rico.
