Identification of Aotential Candidate Genes and Regulatory Pathways Related to the Reproduction of HPT Axis in Adenine-induced Oligozoospermia Model Rats by Differential Transcriptome Analysis

Oligospermia is the most common cause of male infertility and its pathogenesis remains poorly understood at the molecular level. In this study, we identified candidate genes and regulatory pathways that dominate semen quality in the hypothalamus, pituitary and testicular tissues of healthy rats and rats with adenine-induced oligoasthenozoospermia model using RNA sequencing technology (RNA-Seq). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report to provide a complete transcriptome profile of the HPT axis regulating semen quality by RNA-seq in the adenine-induced oligozoospermia model rat, and these data will provide new and comprehensive insights into the potential molecular mechanisms by which the HPT axis regulates semen quality. They provide new ideas and references for further understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of reproductive performance in male rats, and provide certain experimental basis for clinical prevention and improvement of oligozoospermia.
