Who’s got the power? A critical analysis of non-Indigenous people’s positioning relating to Aboriginal plant foods

In settler colonised Australia, there is growing interest in and complexity regarding the commercialisation of Aboriginal plant foods. This thesis examined the positioning and power of non-Indigenous people operating in this context. Through the application of critical methodology and method, tacit ways that settler colonisation is upheld in the food system were revealed. This thesis revealed several tensions for non-Indigenous people and some options when looking to the future. This thesis advances understanding of how power operates in research, policy and the Aboriginal plant foods industry.
