Financial accounts statistics

Financial accounts are accounts in the national accounting system, which reflect the financial assets and liabilities of institutional sectors at the end of the period, transactional changes (net transactions) and other changes (e.g. rebates, reclassifications, write-offs). Financial accounts provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of the size and structure of the financial assets and liabilities of institutional sectors and allow for the analysis of the interrelationships between different sectors, the concentration of risks, changes in financial behaviour and financial relations with the rest of the world.
