Continuous surface meteorological observations during the ice breaker Shirase cruise of the 64th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition

Meteorological observations were made in the Southern Ocean on board the R/V Shirase from December 2022 to March 2023 as a part of the 64th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE). During the cruise, continuous surface atmospheric structures (e.g., temperature, relative humidity, pressure, wind speed, downward long and short wave radiations, and aerosols numbers) were observed by weather sensors. The weather sensors were installed on the ship. In addition, a camera was installed for monitoring sea ice and cloud.
