资源简介:

Gun flint from the wreck of the Earl Of Abergavenny. ID:EOA:2022.112 Collection: Earl of Abergavenny Classification: Military Measurements: Length 20mm Width 20mm Height 5mm Date made: 1804 Display: not on display Manufacturer/Creator: as yet unknown Credit: Portland Museum Trust One of the smallest gun flints recovered from the wreck and likely for use in pistols, this is a wedge shaped piece of Northfleet stone supplied by Thomas Levett of Kent. 1804 was the last year that Levett supplied gun flint to the East India Company and so it is likely that the pieces found on the Abergavenny were from the final shipment before procurement switched to Brandon stone from Suffolk.
