资源简介:
Meta-data: For both the snail and insect abundance, data was collected through the process of net sweeping, wherein the observations were made through counting. Both are Quanititave variables. The weather conditions in the grasslands at York University Keele Campus were cloudy and rainy that afternoon. Hypothesis: The rainy weather will impact the abundance of insects available for collection, but will increase the abundance of snails in the grassland. Predictions: 1) The number of snails collected will outnumber the number of insects collected. 2) Winged insects cannot fly well in rain, thus, a lower count of these insects is expected. 3)Hopping insects are expected to be the most abundant group of insects collected compared to all other insects Methods: A sweeping net was provided for this experiment. Each sweep was about 1m in distance from the next, over a total of d=30m. It took t=2 min to finish 1 sweep of 30m. Sweeps were recorded at least 10m apart from one another in the grassland. The conditions were cloudy and rainy.
