The strain Enterobacter cloacae ssp. dissolvens SDM (CGMCC 4230) has an extraordinary characteristic of 2,3-butanediol production in a rate of 3 g l-1 h-1 in a 50 L fermenter. Here we present the annotated draft genome sequence of this strain. This would promote the exploration on the mechanism of high 2,3-BD production of strain SDM.
