This repository stores the data associated with the study entitled“Occupational Patterns and Risks in Work-Related Biological Material Exposures in Brazil, 2015–2019: A Cross-Sectional Study.” (https://github.com/leticiaraposo/ocupacao-riscos-biologicos-brasil-2015-2019/tree/main) The aim of the study is to characterize the profiles of work-related biological material exposure incidents recorded in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN) between 2015 and 2019, and to identify patterns associated with these events. Study Context Objective: To identify demographic characteristics, occupational conditions, and types of exposure related to work-related biological material incidents in Brazil. Methodology: Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) Hierarchical Cluster Analysis Key Findings: Nursing professionals were the most affected group (70.9%). Three distinct occupational clusters were identified: Cluster 1: Cleaning and maintenance workers with low educational attainment, a predominance of males, and low hepatitis B vaccination coverage. Cluster 2: Nursing professionals with high vaccination rates, a predominance of females, and incidents primarily associated with medication administration. Cluster 3: Dentistry and medical professionals with higher educational levels and consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
