NRS-1339 | Registers of approved requisitions fulfilled

The Stores Branch of the Commissariat had the physical custody of stores, which it issued upon receiving requisitions approved by the Governor or the Colonial Secretary. (A record of requisitions approved entitled Registers of requisitions approved was kept by the Colonial Secretary; the volumes in this series for 1833-35 are located at 4/6662-63.) The series described here deals with requisitions issued for the performance of works by or for convicts and military only; it does not include requisitions for colonial purposes. The series shows: requisition number and date; date when requisition was received; name of department or establishment requiring articles followed by a list of the articles with quantities of each; date of issue of the articles; and a column for remarks, which has been used to record the name of the person who signed the requisition and a note of the Governor's approval.
