VPRS 7596 Wine, Spirit and Sundry Licences Registers - Metropolitan and Country

These records consist of four separate but related sequences of registers relating to liquor licensing under the Licensing Act 1890 and the Customs and Duties Act 1890. These are:* Brewers, Wine and Spirit Grocers' Licences* Wine and Spirit Merchants' Licences* Victuallers Licences (which also contain sub-registers of other licences: Billiard Licences, Packet Licences, Club Licences* Colonial (or Australian) Wine LicencesEach sequence covers the period 1898 to 1918, though there is no Register of Victuallers Licences in custody for the years 1905-1911.The registers cover applicants for licences in both metropolitan and country locations. They provide details of the applicant, their location, the fees paid for the licence each year it was valid in the period covered by that particular register.
