Transcriptome analysis of the common moss Bryum pseudotriquetrum under Antarctic field conditions. Ptychostomum pseudotriquetrum

Mosses are distributed over the world including Antarctica. Although Antarctic mosses can grow in the summer season under severe environments such as low temperature, drought, high salinity concentrations and high levels of UV radiation, molecular mechanisms of environmental stress tolerances have not yet been clarified. In this study, we performed transcriptome analysis by RNA sequencing in one of the common mosses Bryum pseudotriquetrum in order to identify genes whose expression is up- or down-regulated under Antarctic field conditions.
