The effect of HDCA on gene expression in cholestatic mice

HDCA has been reported to exhibit liver protective effects against chronic liver diseases, including MAFLD; however, its effect on cholestatic liver disease remains unclear. In this study, we elucidate the mechanism by which HDCA improves cholestatic liver fibrosis through the modulation of extracellular matrix. Overall design: Mice subjected to 7-day bile duct ligation (BDL) were administered HDCA (100 mg/kg) for 4 days following a 3-day post-surgery period. Additionally, 60-day-old Abcb4-/- mice received 100 mg/kg of HDCA for a duration of 21 days. Total liver RNA was extracted, and RNA sequencing was subsequently performed.
