When I was able to, I would log in and operate transmit/receive. At other times, I left the station running receive-only. There may be a period of time in the WAV files where there is no activity - at one point in time I logged in and found the radio had QSY'ed elsewhere, so presumably there will be no MSK144 activity during that time period in the audio files, wsjt.adi, and all.txt.
