资源简介:
Ground magnetometer data from the 12 stations of the South American Meridional B-field Array (SAMBA) covering magnetic latitudes from near equatorial to mid-latitudes and with one auroral
station. 8 of the SAMBA stations are along the coast of Chile, and 4 are in Antarctica. Data coverage from the first SAMBA stations begins in April 2002.
Data are processed, despiked and in the HDZ coordinate system, at 1 sec resolution (except for the auroral station at WAIS Divide which has 10 sec resolution). The data are produced in both ASCII and CDF formats. The values of the magnetic field components are given in nT * 1000.
The data are organized daily for each station as follows. Each daily file has 5 columns, second of the day, H, D, Z (all three multiplied by 1000 with 99999000 as the missing data flag), and accuracy flag (0-not accurate, 1-accurate, 9-missing). This last one has to do with the GPS function. The file name includes the year, day of year, and station ID, e.g., S04107PAC1s.asc for day 107 of 2004 from PAC (Punta Arenas).
Monthly table of data availability and gaps are provided by Co-PI of the project Dr. Boudouridis (thanasis@atmos.ucla.edu)
Station codes for the 12 SAMBA stations, from low to high latitude, are: PUT, ANT, SER, CER, OSO, VLD, PNT, PAC, ESC, OHI, PAL, and WSD. A table with station names and coordinates as well as a map is provided in the project website,
