The GDELT Project is a global social database, officially known as the Global Database of Events, Language, and Tone. By monitoring broadcast, print, and web news in over 100 languages worldwide, it identifies entities such as persons, locations, organizations, topics, sentiments and events, and has established an open data platform. The dataset dates back to 1979, is updated every 15 minutes, and provides researchers with real-time analytical resources for exploring global events and social dynamics.
