A Study of possible association of Short-Term Complications and Antimicrobial Use in Standing Equine Cheek Tooth Extractions (n=305), 2018-2022

Retrospective analysis of 305 horses undergoing oral cheek teeth extraction within 4 years, with and without the use of prophylactic antimicrobials. Clinical records were reviewed, to identify risk factors for short-term complications, associations between complications and antimicrobial use as well as factors leading to antimicrobial use, in order to improve antimicrobial stewardship.
