Luminescence age data for basal sediments from the Camp Century Ice Core, Greenland (2022)

This data release contains primary and supporting data related to the generation of luminescence ages from the basal sediment of the Camp Century ice core, collected in the 1960’s in northwestern Greenland. These luminescence ages provide age estimates for the last time the sub-ice sediment was exposed to light and indicate that northwest Greenland was ice free 400 thousand years ago, during a warm and an unusually long interglacial period. Data provided include the luminescence ages from seven samples (2 previously published), supporting data related to the calculation of the equivalent dose, fading rate and environmental dose rate used to calculate these ages, and analytical procedures used in the luminescence data collection.
