Parks and Forests Trail System for New Jersey State Park Service

The purpose is to provide NJSP with a manageable, graphic inventory of trails within the NJSPS system. Besides in-house trail management this data was created for the production of trail maps for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders for safe navigation through official trails in the NJSP. Objective accessibility information was also added for users to determine whether a trail would be user-friendly for them based on their own abilities. These maps are available at https://dep.nj.gov/parksandforests. The data has value to the public, federal, state, county and municipal government agencies, trail organizations and non-profits for local and regional planning decisions for outings, constructing trail connections, land acquisition for trail corridors etc… This data is not intended for orienteering purposes.
