Social Listening Reports, Health Priorities and Systemic Review of Social Listening Reports

This project involves conducting a systematic review with a focus on health intelligence derived from South African national social listening reports spanning from 2021 to 2023. These reports, totaling 91 in number, represent a comprehensive collection of data obtained through social listening platforms, capturing public discussions, perceptions, and concerns related to health, particularly amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Using machine learning and natural language processing techniques, the review aims to extract valuable insights regarding health priorities and types of misinformation circulating within the South African population. By adopting a health intelligence perspective, the study seeks to understand the nuances of health-related discourse and misinformation dynamics, informing future public health strategies, risk communication efforts, and community engagement initiatives.
