Sweet potato pakakuy virus, Sweet potato symptomless virus_1 Assembly. Virus

This submission includes de novo assembled genome sequences of two sweet potato viruses: Sweet potato pakakuy virus (SPPV) and Sweet potato symptomless virus_1 (SPSV-1) that have been reported for the first time in Uganda. Sweet potato pakakuy virus is a newly identified virus associated with symptoms of leaf mottling and chlorosis in sweet potato plants. Sweet potato symptomless virus_1 is characterized by its presence in asymptomatic sweet potato plants, suggesting a potential role as a latent or symptomless pathogen. This information is crucial for developing effective management and diagnostic strategies to ensure the health and productivity of sweet potato crops globally.
