Geospatial datasets for the central South Arabian mountains in Al Mahra (Yemen) and Dhofar (Oman) including spatial variability in monsoon fog density.

Geospatial datasets for the central South Arabian mountains in Al Mahrah (Yemen) and Dhofar (Oman) are assembled and made accessible to support research in the region. A raster layer of spatial variability in monsoon fog density is presented together with layers of vegetation indices, topographic data and geomorphology metrics. Vector layers including roads, places and waterpoints are also included. The methods used to calculate and derive the layers are summarized and all data sources, software and tools are referenced accordingly. Data is shared according to the usage and distribution guidelines of the data providers. The datasets are hosted in the Knowledge Network for Biocomplexity (KNB) repository. The collection will be expanded as new data sources and methods become available.
