The liver is a major site of drug metabolism and many of these hepatic enzymes are differentially expressed with age. Since many of these changes have unknown mechanisms, we wanted to idenfity miRNAs that may be controlling the expression of these proteins. Overall design: We obtained liver samples from 10 young (32 years) adult donors. Total RNA was extracted and analyzed using the GeneChip miRNA 4.0 array. We sought to identify miRNAs that were differentially regulated with age.
