Trade as a factor of productivity growth in Thailand's agricultural sector

The agricultural sector has historically played a key role in Thailand's economy. In the 1980s the rapid growth of industry shifted focus away from agriculture. However, the agricultural sector continues to be important to Thailand's economy This thesis investigates the link between trade and the agricultural sector's productivity growth. It suggests that promoting technology growth is essential for the agricultural sector to remain competitive, and for it to continue having a positive effect on the Thai economy.
