Datasets to accompany 'Solitary bee behaviour and pollination is differentially impacted by neonicotinoid and non-neonicotinoid insecticides'

This data was collected as part of an experiement to investigate whether multiple exposures to pesticides affected solitary bee foraging behaviour and delivery of polliantion services to apple. (doi: 'x') <br> Solitary bees (<em>Osmia bicornis</em>) were exposed to multiple rounds of insecticide treatment (acetamiprid or lambda-cyhalothrin) via sprayed apple trees in an exclusion cage in a semi-field setting.The foraging behaviour of individually marked bees were recorded after every round of insecticide exposure. <br> Experimental apple trees received single visit pollination after each round of insecticide exposure, which were kept in plant holding cages until ready to harvest. To assess the delivery of pollination services by solitary bees after each round of insecticide exposure, measurements were recorded of successful apple production, the number of seeds per successful apple, and the number of pollen grains deposited per stigma (collected directly after visit).
