Behavioural Pharmacology Dataset: Anxiolytic-Like Activity of Indigofera bracteolata Methanol Stem Extract in Wistar Rats — Open Field Test, Elevated Plus Maze, and Light–Dark Box Metrics

This dataset contains combined behavioural metrics extracted from 25 male Wistar rats across five treatment groups in a preclinical pharmacological study evaluating the anxiolytic-like activity of the methanol stem extract of Indigofera bracteolata (Fabaceae). Animals received distilled water (5 mL/kg, vehicle control), extract at 150, 300, or 600 mg/kg, or diazepam (2 mg/kg) orally, and were assessed 30 minutes post-treatment across three validated behavioural paradigms: the Open Field Test (OFT), Elevated Plus Maze (EPM), and Light–Dark Box (LDB). Behavioural videos were processed using DeepLabCut v2.3.9 with the SuperAnimal pre-trained topview model (superanimal_topviewmouse) on GPU-accelerated Google Colab infrastructure. Kinematic metrics including zone occupancy, entry counts, latency, total path length, and mean velocity were extracted automatically from pose estimation coordinates. The dataset includes 85 variables per animal covering all primary and secondary behavioural endpoints, keypoint likelihood scores for 27 anatomical landmarks, group assignment, dose labels, and test type identifiers. Statistical analysis was performed in Python 3.8 using SciPy 1.7.3, NumPy 1.21.0, and Pandas 1.3.0.
