LifeWatch observatory data: an in-situ imaging (Video Plankton Recorder) learning set from the Belgian part of the North Sea

This dataset is the result of the deployment of a Real Time Video Plankton Recorder in the Belgian Part of the North Sea for multiple sampling campaigns between 2019 and 2021. Data was collected in the framework of the LifeWatch project and a PhD research project on "Optical imaging and analysis for zooplankton observations". The dataset contains a total of 175,000 validated images or regions of interest of plankton and marine particles.
