JOSSeph Dataset: Software Quality Metrics for 500 Public Java GitHub Repositories

This record contains a dataset of software quality metrics for 500 public Java GitHub repositories, generated using the JOSSeph pipeline. The dataset was produced using four integrated metric sources: CK for static object-oriented code metrics CM for change and process metrics derived from version history GitHub API for repository-level metadata SonarQube for maintainability and reliability indicators The archive includes: a results/ directory with per-repository metric artifacts a pipeline-level summary report execution logs configuration files used for the run source-code reference metadata bundle documentation analysis/validation_results.csv with per-comparison results from the side-by-side extractor validation Repository-level outputs follow the paired artifact contract used by JOSSeph: each extractor produces both a .parquet data file and a corresponding .json metadata sidecar to ensure reproducibility and traceability. This archive contains only generated dataset artifacts and execution metadata. The source code used to produce the dataset is published separately:https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19559306 Changes in version 1.1: Added per-comparison validation results for all four extractors on ten repositories at pinned commits (40 comparisons). Masked transient SonarQube scanner tokens in the execution log and pipeline summary. Per-repository metric artifacts are unchanged from version 1.0.0. The dataset is intended for large-scale empirical studies of software quality, repository mining, and benchmarking of static analysis tools.
