genome sequancing of Mucor circinelloides

This BioProject investigates the genomic characteristics of Mucor circinelloides, a fungal species isolated from soil samples collected at Donghua University. The organism was identified for its potential in the biological pretreatment of rice straw, a key step in improving the efficiency of lignocellulosic biomass degradation. The study aims to provide insights into the genomic basis of its enzymatic capabilities and its role in sustainable agricultural waste management. Whole-genome sequencing was performed using the Illumina NovaSeq platform, and the resulting data will contribute to a better understanding of the metabolic pathways involved in lignocellulose degradation and fungal adaptation to soil environments.
