DNA barcodes of Guianese fishes. Actinopterygii and Chondrichthyes

This project is composed of assembled targeted sequences derived from a large-scale project that aims to close the fish sampling gaps in the Guiana Shield. Those specifically presented here are obtained from fish collected in the rivers of Suriname. These data will be used to answer questions relating to the biodiversity and biogeography of this region and will contribute to a reference database for current and future eDNA studies as well as aid in developing universal primers for Neotropical fishes. This NCBI BioProject contains DNA barcode records that were generated with financial and technical support from the Federally funded Smithsonian Institution Barcode Network with use of facilities at the Laboratories of Analytical Biology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution.
