MALDI-ToF-MS spectra of three extinct Australian megafauna species: Zygomaturus trilobus, Palorchestes azael, and Protemnodon mamkurra. These spectra were used for the development of collagen peptide markers for ZooMS. For Palorchestes azael and Protemnodon mamkurra, collagen was extracted using an acid-soluble approach. The Zygomaturus trilobus sample consisted of ultrafiltered gelatin previously extracted for radiocarbon dating.
