Siganus virgatus, complete mitogenome

Information on the mitogenome of this species has not yet been reported. Therefore, this work sequenced and characterized the entire mitogenome of S. virgatus. This endeavor aimed to elucidate the phylogenetic position of the species within the Siganidae family, as well as within the broader taxonomic Acanthuriformes order. As the first study on the mitogenome of S. virgatus, the result will provide valuable genomic information for species identification and phylogenetic studies
