The QIN-Breast Dataset, consisting of longitudinal PET/CT imaging and targeted MR images, is intended for investigating novel approaches to breast cancer adjuvant therapy. It contains 100,835 images from 68 patients. The dataset includes images acquired at three time points: T1 prior to the start of treatment; T2 after one cycle of treatment; and T3 after the second treatment cycle or upon completion of all treatment. The value of this dataset lies in its clinical imaging data, which can be used to develop and evaluate quantitative imaging methodologies for early assessment of breast cancer treatment response. This dataset was provided by Dr. Thomas E. Yankeelov, Principal Investigator (PI), from Vanderbilt University, using a GE Discovery STE scanner. The acquisition parameters for the CT and PET scans are as follows: For patients weighing 70 kg, the tube current was set to 80 mAs, tube voltage to 120 kVp, and pitch to 1.675/1. The administered FDG activity was approximately 370 MBq. Starting 1 hour after injection, emission data for each couch position was collected in 3D mode every 2 minutes. Initially, scanning was only performed in the prone breast position, and later extended to supine scanning from the skull to the mid-femur. This dataset was released by The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) in 2016, with the associated research paper titled "QIN-Breast: The Cancer Imaging Archive".
