Many population genetics analyses depend on haplotype phasing. However, statistical phasing using reference panels lead to systematic biases due to differential representation of populations in the panels. In this study we use the 10x Genomics Chromium technology to allow for experimental phasing of diverse human genomes, with a focus towards populations which are poorly represented in current large-scale sequencing panels, e.g. African, Native American and Oceanian populations.
