In the broiler chicken gastrointestinal tract, the caeca are the main cite of fermentation. For the aim of finding new and good fermentable strain in caeca part of chicken, S. alactolyticus strain FGM (GenBank accession No. JX435470) was screened out from bacterial in chicken cecum to ferment Astragalus membranaceus (A. membranaceus) and produce fermented Astragalus polysaccharides (FPAS) .
