Opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1

A LysR-type transcriptional regulator CysB, a highly conserved master regulator among Gram-negative bacteria, plays a critical role in regulating the expression of the cys regulons responsible for sulfur assimilation through such as sulfur uptake and cysteine biosynthesis. In addition to playing a role in sulfur metabolism, CysB can regulate multiple targets which is related to bacterial pathogenesis. To identify novel CysB-regulated genes, we compared the transcriptomics of the wild-type strain and the cysB deletion mutant via RNA sequencing (RNA-seq).
