Soils act as an archive of natural history on the one hand because they allow conclusions to be drawn about environmental conditions during soil formation, and on the other hand as an archive of cultural history if human activities have left traces in them. They preserve current and historical events often over long periods of time. The evaluation was carried out on the basis of an open list of soils of high importance for landscape or cultural history (LfULG 2009). The criterion of rarity and archaeological monuments were not taken into account.
