Rhizosphere microbial community and bactericidal analysis of disease suppressiveness of rice bran amendment for common scab of potato.. soil metagenome

Common scab (CS) of potato caused by pathogenic Streptomyces spp. is a serious problem in potato production for worldwide. Several cultural practices such as optimizing of soil pH and irrigation are recommended, but they are difficult to establish stable reduction of the disease. Conventionally, farmers in southwest Japan have used rice bran (RB) amendment in soil to reduce CS; however, disease suppressive mechanisms of RB are still unclear.
