Metagenomic from two Pakistan's caves

Microbial communities in the cave ecosystem possess specialized survival strategies which are far from being well explicited. Here we reported the genetic and functional diversity of bacteria and archaea in typical limestone (Kashmir cave) and silicate-containing (Tiser cave) caves. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) analyses revealed both caves distinct geochemical and mineralogical compositions.
