The China Crop Phenology Dataset - Maize (CCPD-Maize) is a long-term high-resolution maize phenology dataset covering maize phenology maps across 22 provinces in China from 2001 to 2020. All files are stored in GeoTIFF format, with the spatial reference system set to WGS84 (EPSG:4326) and a spatial resolution of 30 meters. Maize phenological features were identified using the relative threshold method, based on long-term high spatiotemporal resolution normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) fusion datasets and annually updated maize distribution datasets. The CCPD-Maize dataset includes five core phenological products: maize start of growing season (SOS), end of growing season (EOS), vegetative growth stage (VGS), reproductive growth stage (RGS), and length of growing season (LOS). The validation of CCPD-Maize SOS and EOS products against maize emergence and maturity data observed by agrometeorological stations shows high accuracy, with determination coefficients (R²) of 0.964 and 0.823, respectively.
