The relationship between temperature and the digestive tract microflora community composition in the Veined Rapa Whelk (Rapana venosa)

The veined rapa whelk Rapana venosa is an important and valuable fishery resource in China, but a major invader around the world, which is a poikilotherm that susceptible to temperature. The predation of R. venosa massively increased at 16? and reached a peak at approximately 22? (Song et al. 2016). We analyzed the digestive tract microflora composition of the R. venosa under different temperatures (16?, 22? and 28 ?) by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, which may provide a further understand to the effect of temperature on digestion and ingestion of gastropods and a new insight of the invasion of R. venosa.
